Apparently Trouble the Bear is awake from hibernation now and has taken to car theft since last summer. At least he was rather polite about it and surprisingly left only one very small scratch, a bunch of bear-butt-dirt on the passenger seat, and some charging cables and cough drops in the driveway. Jokes aside, my heart breaks for Trouble, because his future is not bright. Someone will report him and he will be killed because all of us (including myself) were too cavalier with our trash and bird seed and unsecured human food. (And yes…we will be locking our cars now) but, for now, Trouble the bear lives on to continue his life of crime. 🐻 #blackbear #coloradowildlife #bear #mountainlife #evergreencolorado

I’ve been trying to shake the flu for a couple weeks, and still cannot get rid of my awful cough, but I couldn’t let my holiday break from work be completely ruined so I escaped for a quick minute to recharge amongst the red rocks and desert bighorn of canyon country. Such a weird and unsettling Christmas this year here in #coloRADo with no snow to speak of and temps so hot I was sweating and peeling off layers on my Xmas eve and Xmas day runs. We’ve had one small snow at our home around 7800’ this winter, and outside of that we’ve seen basically 50+ degree temps everyday. Our power was out last week for 5 days as part of a planned power outage due to some intense windstorms and it being bone dry which led to unprecedented fire danger. I’m really not a fan of this whole climate change nonsense and would like our snow back please. I also got some skis for Xmas and I’d really like to try them out!
